Friends and colleagues,
It is with great sadness that we announce the postponement of FanFAIRE 2020.
For over a week, we’ve been monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation, and our colleagues’ response. Like them, we are committed to doing our part to help protect our students, staff, volunteers, and audience members and their families and friends. Our priority is first and foremost the health and wellbeing of our community.
FanFAIRE is meant to be an event that brings us all together- musically, intellectually, and physically. The responsible course is to postpone the April 4 event, and reschedule at a time that we can celebrate that which brings us all together. It is the sheer magnitude of this event- the thing that makes it such a wonderful new project- that makes it necessary to make a proactive decision.
“The show must go on” is deeply embedded in our staff, as the events of 2009-10 have proven. We are exploring options for a future date, and we look forward to bringing the Oshkosh community together to celebrate FanFAIRE as soon as possible and will keep you updated.
Ticket holders will be contacted directly regarding refunds. At a time when the presenters- including The Grand- will be extremely challenged, even threatened, by the health crisis, please consider donating your ticket back to the presenting organization, if you are able.
We understand the gravity of the situation, and it’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly.
As of this date (3-12-20), all other performances at The Grand are still scheduled to go on, as planned.
Thank you for your support.
